Droving on the country road

Soft afternoon rain falls on
Paddies, dark green grass and trees
In Siam,
A pretty name

Kent is a name loaded with history
Of boys splashing in spring rain puddles
Laughter filling the halls of oaks and elms

The boy
The old man
Just names
Under the microscope of time

They are one code.
Siam and Kent are one omega
Name, time, location; one plasma.

I can hear the Kent boys’ laughter now
And see the dark green arch of the Siam road
And listen to old silver rain on the Kentish road.
